Australia is one of the top two study abroad destinations: Here is why.

January 18, 2018

Australia is officially the second most popular study abroad destination, according to a 2017 global survey conducted by HSBC. And to be honest, we’re not shocked by the result.

With sandy white beaches, reputable universities and some of the most adorable animals you ever did see, visiting the land down under is an exciting adventure for anyone. Here are just a few of the appeals of studying abroad in Australia:

1. Enjoy the unique wildlife

Did you know that over 80 per cent of our wildlife is exclusive to Australia? That’s right, a lot of the animals and plants you’ll see can be found nowhere else in the world! From cuddly koalas to the constantly-smiling quokkas – there’s a lot to see when you visit! You can take a trip to some of our world-renowned zoos or even visit some of these creatures in their natural habitats!

2. Work while you wander

Unlike a lot of other countries, once you secure a student visa in Australia you’re free to work in the country as well. The position can reach a maximum of 40 hours a week and will need to be a basic skill job – such as cashier or waitress – but this visa addition allows you to earn some extra money to finance all your overseas adventures!

Bonus: Getting a part-time job is a cool way to meet new people outside of your university!

3. Did we mention the beaches?

Seriously, Australia is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole world. And there’s an abundance of them – there are over 10,600 beaches across the country. Whether you want to try your hand at surfing, explore the Great Barrier Reef or simply catch a tan on some white sand – the land down under has the perfect beach for you.
